Corewards Conflict – Imperial Army takes HEX base The Imperial Army, numbering in the hundreds of thousands, has taken the HEX Lannus Crossing within the Astra system after many days of fighting. The HEX base had previously been claiming for the DEN against the CAL system claim prior to the Imperial Army’s arrival. The successful assault ended the DEN system claim, with the loss much material and precious life all round. The first event this story draws from is the Imperial assault on Lannus Crossing in the Astra system. There has never been a Caliphate or a Deweik claim for the Astra system and when the base was attacked the Hexamon were supporting the Civilian government claim to the system. Even now after the base has fallen the Imperials have maintained the bases claim for the Civilian government. The second event this story draws from is the Caliphates current attempt to take over the Zewt system. The Deweik (DEN) had tried to counter this claim by supporting the civilian government with their own base which was subsequently destroyed which resulted in much loss of life to the Deweik. Hopefully this is an isolated incident, however we will continue to monitor and report on any stories which are just made up by the Caliphate News Network in the future. Prophecy unfulfilled - The story of the Demons of Gomorrah (DOG) Imagine a future where your entire race is held prisoner in a single alien colony. Not a great picture but this was the prophecy the Demons of Gomorrah (DOG) brought with them in 195 when they appeared in the galaxy. They warned that in a few hundred years the Clan (CLN), who were a Bast race which inhabited the cluster at the time, would take over the entire galaxy, killing billions and enslaving the rest. The Clan (CLN) were defeated over a decade ago but the tale of the DOG remains one of the galaxies greatest stories: “Held in the CLN colony Gomorrah in the Nexus system were descendants of the Dominion. In a daring revolt several hundred prisoners managed to escape, recapturing there ships that were being dismantled in the colony starport. Once again there were free humans openly resisting the clan domination of the galaxy, but what could a few small ships do against a fleet of thousands of huge Clan warships, other then hide? For weeks the rebels hid from there pursuers, repairing there ships and locating other free life forms that could help them. Then out of no where a unknown race offered them the chance to go back in time, when the clan was still in its infancy and change the future. They opened up a wormhole in time which the newly formed 'Demons of Gomorrah' traveled through. Unfortunately the wormhole did not take the DOG as far back as intended. It was planned to send them back to a the time when the CLN had only just arrived in the cluster. The CLN would be very weak having lost most of there technology during the evacuation and there numbers would be small. However when exiting the time wormhole in the space square of Antioch they were immediately encountered by several CLN picket ships. The DOG realized something had gone wrong but were unsure where to go. Pursued by the CLN for the next few weeks the DOG would make several stands in Skye and New Sussex, however all this lead to was the destruction of many of there ships. The DOG fleet had been made up of around 20 Battle Cruisers and Frigates by the end of the month there were less then half left. Luckily the DOG found there descendants the DOM in the Lucifer system and convinced them to hide there ships. Soon the CLN gave up the chase and the DOG were able to repair there ships, build up there strength and re-acquaint themselves with the galaxy. Upon hearing there fate in the future the DOM were more then happy to help and collected loads of information on CLN shipping. This allowed the DOG to begin Pirate tactics in the hope of weakening the CLN empire. However it was not long before the CLN realized the DOM were aiding the DOG and the situation escalated into open conflict between them. Unprepared for such an onslaught the DOM were forced to leave the Cluster. This left the DOG with no one to help them. For the next year they would continue there pirate activities, occasionally setting up a colony to perform repairs, build equipment and gathered food, they were never able to set up properly as the CLN would find them and force them to move on. By mid 197 the CLN had pushed the DOG back into Onward, seriously damaging there last Frigate. The DOG fleet formed in the hope of repairing there last capitol warship before the CLN found them. Unfortunately the CLN had tracked the ship and a fleet surrounded them, unable to escape the DOG were annihilated. Ironically they were destroyed in the system which they first appeared….. And so the DOG were gone, only leaving a terrible prophecy and a few drifting derelicts within CLN space. One of these Derelicts was scanned in the space square of Antioch as a "Spider warship". unlike the other DOG ships it appears very organic and alien, could it be the ship that opened the wormhole? No one will know as the ship was disintegrated by the CLN to prevent it falling into the wrong hands. A few years later the CLN were defeated by the combined forces of the Dominion (DOM) and Deweik (DEN) however a few of their colonies remained. Many believed that the DOG were successful and by harassing the CLN they prevented them from getting stronger and allowed other races to build up to defeat them. Others believed by warning the DOM they were able to ally with other races to stop the Clan. However many still believe that the prophecy is inevitable and the Clan will re-emerge. Not long after the CLN were defeated another Bast race appeared in the galaxy called the Felini (FEL) which now control those former CLN colonies and have built an empire of their own… Who Are Beacon and what do they do? Based in Yank, Halo and Corewards the Beacon team is a mixture of Human and Alien traders who fly under a number of different flags. Able to gather stories and information from all over the galaxy they have unrivalled access to the events of the day.
