Flagritz Strike!

As suspected, the Flagritz Empire have made their move against the Consortium forces in the Twilight Periphery. A massed fleet of FLZ vessels ranging in size from small support cruisers right up to a significant force of thirty or more of their monstrous 200 hulled battleships has struck against the cut-off Consortium fleet.

The Flagritz, armed largely with Nova guns, missiles and torpedoes, exchanged a lively fire with a superior number of SMS/FEL/FCN ships in a fierce battle which saw almost two entire squadrons of SMS Heavy Cruisers destroyed, 18 ships in total along with two or three larger FCN/FEL ships. However the FLZ did not have it all their way, as 6 of their vessels were destroyed, along with heavy damage inflicted to 10 baseships, one of which is understood to have suffered catastrophic hull failure as it attempted to withdraw from battle.

Flagritz On The Move

After weeks of nervous inactivity in the Twilight Periphery, it seems as if the FLZ navies may finally be on the move as a large Flagritz battlefleet has begun skirmishing with SMS and FEL cruisers in the inner reaches of the system.

After a brief exchange of long distance fire the Consortium forces disengaged and moved away, with over 50 heavy battleships of the Flagritz Empire in pursuit.

It seems as if the FLZ may well be seeking to draw the Consortium forces in Twilight into a decisive battle in order to annihilate them before the Stargate opens again.

Historical Perspective Special Edition

The History Of Humanity - Part Two.

The History of the Confederacy and Human Empire by the Confederate historian Robert William Draper

(ooc: As experienced by the player Ewan Jones from the year 198 onwards and collated into a single cohesive storyline between 204 and December 208 Reprinted by The Editor for the SSS because it is considered sufficiently of interest to all players who might have missed it on the Nexus.)

Chapter 8 - Post Tau Ceti Convention under Emperor Jasil.

Following the exodus of the Confederacy, strict limits were placed on religious organisations by Emperor Jasil. These generally covered their personal control of assets. They were no longer allowed to control starbases within the boundaries of the Empire but had to maintain civilian holdings only. This lack of shipping and starbases effectively cut their power and over time the New Harmony Church lost much of the influence it had prior to the schism with the Brotherhood.

Halo News

Shocking news has reached our news-room this week from inside the newly discovered Halo Periphery.

The following report has been received from a party who wishes to remain anonymous:

Action:
Officer J. xxxx is xxx's recently promoted senior representative in Halo He has orders from his superiors to make contact with the HBO and request an affiliation number for HEF. Xxx would like to make it policy that any ship in Halo carries HEF on its DNT.

Ceasefire Request

Beleaguered RIP forces have asked for a ceasefire from the ongoing Imperial-Bloc onslaught that is gutting their positions across multiple systems Given the RIP are at this point virtually defenceless, and have indeed barely fired back at the massively superior IMP/GTT forces since the war began, it seems as if from a humanitarian perspective alone, this ceasefire request will be politically difficult for the Imperial leadership to ignore. Particularly since the RIP announced they would pay compensation to the victims of any pirate attack thought to have been committed by a RIP member.

The IMP and GTT however seem to be not in the mood to listen.

Twilight

Trouble for the Consortium as it appears the Flagritz Empire have closed the Twilight Stargate, stranding the combined SMS/FEL expeditionary force on the far side of the gate, deep inside enemy territory.

With supplies surely limited, and no immediate hope of support or rescue, it seems as if things are likely to get a little perilous for the men and women of the Twilight Expeditionary Force.

The FLZ Ambassador H'minee provided our newsroom with the following statement:

CNF Initiate Sanctions

The FET continue to be on the wrong side of the Confederacy this week as the situation has escalated to the stage of sanctions being drawn up against all FET holdings:

TEID-COM EDICT 210.2.1

FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION TO ALL CONFEDERATE FORCES, WORLDS AND POLITICALS

Doomsday For The RIP?

The Regular Independent Privateers continue to suffer as a series of Imperial lead assaults batter at their holdings.

Apparently unable to mount a sustained counter-attack, the RIP seem at the mercy of technologically superior Imperial forces, fighting hard across multiple battle locations to hold on to what they've got.

Exact details of the conflict remain scarce on the ground, and Imperial authorities continue to refer to their operations as police actions rather than a full-scale war. However it is hard to imagine the RIP can continue to hold out for long against the might of the Imperial-Bloc, and their appeals for Commonwealth intervention have so far fallen on deaf ears.

Ho ho ho?

From the offices of the GTT:
For too long has the fat man in the red suit unfairly traded, cutting into our profits. We therefore declare a trade war against Santa. We demand he turn over all production facilities in the North Pole System and we will retain his indigenous labour force, the E-lves.
Distribution of tradegoods known as X-Maspresents (39999) will be handled exclusively through GTT trade centres. Anyone dealing in X-Maspresents independently of GTT distribution centres will be attacked for infringement of our trade rights. NO returns will be honoured.
For the new year, why not save yourselves a bit of cash and just send us all your money?

RIP Go Boom

Details on the ground are scarce, but stories reaching our news-room suggest that the days of the RIP may be numbered, as the Imperial-Bloc has launched a series of direct military strikes against multiple RIP targets.

We have reports of a substantial ground assault going in against RIP Freedom City, which might or might not have run into heavier than expected resistence from RIP defenders.
