CHAIRMAN EDITION RULES
These rules need to be used in conjunction with the Extra Time rule book from the original game. If you do not have a copy of these rules, please ring KJC Games on 01253 866345 and a copy can be sent straight out to you.
Game System and Tactics
As the saying goes, if it's not broken, don't try to fix it! As the match system for Extra Time has been acknowledged as one of the best, we have not altered the basic design.
However to give clubs enough players to field both First and Reserve teams, in some cases it has been necessary to increase the number of actual footballers registered at a club with a few new faces. These players are denoted by an asterisk after their name in the squad list. All teams will have a minimum of three goalkeepers, nine defenders, nine midfielders and nine attackers.

Appointing Captains
Your reserve team may also have its own captain. To show which team a footballer is to be captain of, add a '1' to the order for the first team or a '2' to be captain of the reserves. For example:
the order A 12 1 would appoint player number 12 as the first team captain, whereas
the order A 63 2 would appoint the forward, player number 63 to captain the reserves.
Finance
You receive all the gate receipts from your home league matches and none from your away league matches. For a cup match, the away team receives a third of the gate receipts. The home team also profits from programme and refreshment sales but has to pay for policing the match, a figure dependant on the size of the crowd. Another cost as you may expect is ground maintenance, paid for weekly and based on the quantity and type of places in the ground.

Turn Card and Team Selection
The turn card now has room for six team selections. These are in order:
1) 1st First Team Match
2) 2nd First Team Match
3) Cup Match
4) 1st Reserve Team Match
5) 2nd Reserve Team Match
6) Friendly
The same player can't play for the first team and reserves in the same week. Also, highly skilled players who are forced to play in the reserves will be unhappy to do this and as the level of competition is not as high as he would expect, his skill levels may drop.
You can use any of the team selections for a Friendly although option six gives you the opportunity to pick a team specially for this match. You could use it to experiment with different combinations of players or various tactics and formations. There is no limit to the number of friendly matches although each one after the first costs 25p. A box on your turncard is provided for friendly matches.
Back Room Staff
To help you in your task of managing the staff you have a physiotherapist and coach who'll look after your first team. Should you wish you can hire another one of each to look after your reserve team (the one with the greatest skill will automatically be assigned to the first team). There is room in your staff for a third one of each which can be used to hire another staff member before retiring/losing an existing member.
W (Physio/Coach Number) (Wage Offer)
Offers the Physio/Coach available for
hire the wage specified if he joins you.
R (Number)
Retires the Physio/Coach specified.
This costs half the value of his wage
multiplied by his weeks left on hire.
When his contract is up the Physio/Coach will automatically leave your club and will normally go back onto the market looking for future job opportunities.
