*** Message From The Editor ***

War, huh, what is it good for?

Apart from Kang’s blood pressure obviously.

NEWS!

*** Solo – Day 14 – Space Battle ***

The pitched battle in the Solo system between the massed forces of the Meatsack Empire and the outnumbered Superior Aliens continued today, with both sides starting to deliberately pick out and destroy weakened ships amongst the opposition.

Kang would argue that the Superior Aliens proved better at picking on the weakest of the Meatsack Empire, as despite being outgunned, they managed to keep the battle moderately even.

And when Kang says ‘outnumbered’, Kang means really quite badly outnumbered:

556 GTT
74 BHD
391 CAL
131 IMP

1152 EMP

160 DEN
336 FLZ
354 HEX
3 USN

853 ESP

The tally of losses for the day was:

ESP losses

HEX 20
DEN 4
FLZ 30

Total 54

EMP losses

IMP 27
GTT 47
CAL 2

Total 76

From which HEX sources have kindly saved Kang an awful lot of trouble that Kang almost certainly would not have bothered doing, and have added up the hull loss count for Monday:

IMP:
2 x 300HH
11 x 200HH
4 x 100HH
1 x 50HH
12 x 75NH
3 x 200NH

CAL:
1 x 200HH
1 x 90HH

GTT:
3 x 300HH
41 x 200HH
2 x 150HH
4 x 50HH

EMP TOTAL HULL LOSSES: 13,140 HH and 1,500 NH (combined 14,640)

FLZ:
16 x 200HH
1 x 90HH
1 x 50HH
12 x 200NH
5 x 50NH

HEX:
3 x 200HH
1 x 150HH
1 x 75HH
2 x 50HH
15 x 200NH

DEN:
4 x 150HH

TOTAL ESP HULL LOSSES: 4,865 HH and 5,690 NH (combined 10,555)

Kang does so enjoy watching 300HH warships explode. Kang can literally hear the sobs of the starport managers who built them.

Kang also cannot help but notice that yet again the CAL have gotten off lightly. Do CAL ship captains make a habit of hiding behind IMP/GTT ships or something? Kang refuses to believe this is a co-incidence!

*** Solo Day 14 - Ground Battle ***

On Tyburn Imperial Meatsack Ground forces have continued to capture Dogsack outposts whilst existing DEN bases keep blowing up smaller ground parties as and when they are detected:

IMP Solo 104 (93297) - Ground party
Fighting for control of DEN SO-Tyburn-231 (Se7/15) (20858)
BLOWN UP!
IMP Solo 107 (75377) - Ground party
Fighting for control of DEN SO-Tyburn-2020 (Se28/7) (22016)
BLOWN UP!
IMP Solo 109 (91554) - Ground party
Fighting for control of DEN SO-Tyburn-252 (Ft26/5) (57630)
BLOWN UP!

The main base of Manticore remains in EMP hands however, as the retreating Dewiek defence force appears to have scarpered. Perhaps somebody threw a stick and shouted 'fetch'?

*** Solo Day 14 – Space Additional ***

The three remaining vessels of the Ulian Stellar Navy strikeforce, operating alongside the ESP fleet, spent most of today attempting to survive.

They failed.

*** Titan ***

The EMP, consisting of their IMP and GTT elements, have launched an attack against a DEN platform in the Titan system, as the conflict appears to spill out of Solo and into other system.

The DEN had apparently illegally increased the size of their platform, which provoked the EMP response.

Kang once increased the size of a puny Human meatsacks torso by injecting helium, the response this provoked was eventually quite explosive.

*** WAR! ***

In further shocking news, after the IMP and GTT declared war on the HEX and FLZ, the HEX reciprocated, which appears to have caused some confusing mix up with regards relations based targeting shenanigans that Kang simply does not understand.

Something tactically weird happened, Kang leaves it up to your imagination.

*** Imagination ***

Imagine your favourite thing.

Imagine a news story relating to that thing.

Imagine that story appearing here.

Congratulations! Kang declares you all sub-editors!

*** Solo – Day 15 ***

A number of small skirmishes occurred throughout the Solo system today as reinforcements scuttled all over the place.

The funniest of which was this, where a DEN freighter appears to have taken on a squadron of CIA gunboats, prompting many to speculate why the CIA are even in the system:

CIA Chindi 3 (41927) - Ship
Monitor Class Gun Boat {Light Ablative Armour}

DEN Karv 1I--50 (3749) - Ship
Hql Light Trader Class Freighter {No Armour}
Hull Damage: 100.0%
BLOWN UP!

There are further reports of 4 Flagritz and 2 DEN (1 a freighter) being caught and destroyed by other Emp forces in system.

Meanwhile at the big space battle in Delta 6, the superior numbers of the EMP started to take it’s toll:

EMP losses

IMP 38
GTT 18 (1 freighter)
CAL 7
FRE 1 freighter

ESP losses

HEX 38
USN 3
FLZ 22
DEN 1

Plenty of nasty weaponry still being chucked about:

Kang begs you, can’t you move this battle into orbit of an inhabited world?

Please? Pretty please, with a pickled Wimble on top?

*** Solo – Day 15 – Space ***

HEX analysts did another hull count check on losses which made the day look rather better for the ESP than it did at first sight:

Tuesday Hull count:

3 x 200NH

ESP TOTAL HULL LOSSES: 6,430 HH and 5,550 NH

EMP TOTAL HULL LOSSES: 7,670 HH and 1,665 NH

*** Solo – Day 15 - Ground ***

Down on the surface of Tyburn it appears to be complete Chaos, with the Imperial Viceroy deploying dozens of ground parties on multiple operations, no doubt straining the brains of the Imperial Staff.

… Kang could say something here, but Kang suspects you’ve already guessed what Kang would have said.

It looks like the IMP artillery in Manticore finally managed to stop Exodus slapping it about, as many thousands of heavy artillery pieces were presumably combat dropped by EMP shipping overnight:

Attacking IMP Manticore (3637)
------------------------------
Round 1: 2 Artilleries
- 2 hits - 6 (12) [40] damage - 100%
599 Artillery mkIIs
- 599 hits - 2242 (5104) [17970] damage - 100%
14332 Ground Bombers
- on attack vector

Incoming Fire from IMP Manticore (3637)
---------------------------------------
Round 1: 6066 Artillery mkIIs
- 6066 hits - 2554 (2132) [181980] damage - 100%
Round 2: 6062 Artillery mkIIs
- 6062 hits - 2513 (2891) [181860] damage - 100%
Round 3: 6063 Artillery mkIIs
- 6063 hits - 1451 (3545) [181890] damage - 100%
Round 4: 6063 Artillery mkIIs
- 6063 hits - 1576 (2267) [181890] damage - 100%

Outposts held and falling all over the place:

DEN SO-Tyburn-151 (Mt18/19) (84747) has fallen to the attackers.
DEN SO-Tyburn-0420 (F3/4) (77453) has fallen to the attackers.

Ground Battle for the Control of DEN SO-Tyburn-01 (343)
-------------------------------------------------------
Round 1: Battle is dominated by Defender
Defender gained 18.12% control [100%]

The situation amongst the civilian population is understood to be deliciously desperate, as they attempt to find somewhere safe from all the shelling.

*** Solo – Day 16 ***

Quite unexpectedly, today the ESP fleet pulled back in agreement with a temporary ceasefire, and after 16 days of brutal conflict, the guns fell silent across the Solo system.

Were the Superior alien forces exhausted? Were the Meatsack Humies exhausted? Was each side equally afraid that the other was about to bring in reinforcements and crush the other? Kang does not know. But Kang does know that the unannounced ceasefire is apparently holding, as there have been no further reports of battle.

*** Hot Krell On Krell Action ***

Apparently discontent that there was slaughter going on elsewhere in the galaxy, Kang’s favourite genocidal alien nutjobs – the Krell – have started cheerfully attempting to exterminate each other once again.

A KRL marine division has launched a brutal boarding attempt against the USN platform Stratus, in the Storm system, citing their desire to eject the USN from the traditional home system of the Krell. Along with the KRT. And everybody else they don’t like the look of.

The platform is understood to have been undermanned and understaffed, lacking a captain. Do Krell forces have captains? Kang has never been clear. You would think they might lack the discipline for that whole orders business.

However, after a day of hard fighting, the KRL captured the USN platform, and no doubt ate the survivors.

And the bodies.

Of their enemies.

And their own.

Kang does however direct your attention towards this portion of the battle:

Attacking KRL Stratus (51720)
-----------------------------
Round 1: 31 Aquaphid Marines - 2 [62] damage
99 Falconian Marines - 6 [198] damage
13 Falconian Veteran Marines - 0 [52] damage
14 Hive Veteran Marines - 0 [56] damage
3711 Human Marines - 148 [7422] damage
364 Human Veteran Marines - 24 [1456] damage
750 Kastorian Marines - 30 [1500] damage
10 Kastorian Veteran Marines - 0 [40] damage
2264 Krell Marines - 98 [4528] damage
2 Krell Veteran Marines - 0 [8] damage
621 Naplian Marines - 34 [1242] damage

Krell veterans? A rare sight indeed! Krell that have survived long enough to achieve veteran status!

Bravo puny Krell, may your slaughter continue!
