*** Message From The Editor ***

Kang is most pleased that you have chosen to celebrate the 500th edition of the SSS by engaging in a stellar war. Most pleased indeed.

Let bloodshed commence.

KANG!

*** Glorious War ***

Conflict has shattered the fragile peace of the Solo system this week, as puny human Empire forces have launched a series of assaults against both Dewiek and Flagritz positions.

The Empire operation, involving the IMP, GTT, CAL and CIA, has the stated goal of putting an end to the Flagritz slaving activities on the planet Hammer. However, their goal appears to have experienced some element of mission creep, as they have also attacked the DEN claiming Starbase too, with the apparent intent of claiming the system for themselves, resulting in a war of words over the true intentions of the Empire forces. With one side saying they are freeing slaves, whilst the other side saying the EMP are acting illegally and dishonourably having broken their word in order to support the CAL against the DEN and kick the non-human affiliations out of Solo.

The stage is set for some truly impressive brutality. And Kang salivates at the thought of it.

*** Empire Statement On Solo Situation ***

From the office of the Viceroy............

Today, The Empire has embarked on a mission to free Solo from Slavery.

The masters of the system who forcibly removed it from control from the Yank kastorians, promised it to be a free society, have failed its people by allowing its allies to enslave its citizens, known about it, and failed to do anything about it.

Instead they continue to ally with them, to cause suffering to the masses, against all that is in their profile. A blight on its leadership, a moral slip in its being.

They have used their friendship with the IMP to bypass our good relations and deliver troops and equipment to kill us under the flags of the FLZ and HEX, ground troops and tanks fighting for the enslavers.

For this the Empire cannot stand by, we have launched an endeavour to remove the DEN from controlling assets within Solo, this does mean a temporary step to war due to mechanics of these things, which is temporary, however if the DEN want that to continue, then that is the risk we are willing to take.

We have raised to war our standing with the FLZ the enslavers.

We have the backing of the Yank Kastorians in this endeavour, who have given us their best wishes in freeing the system from slavery.

I ask all other nations who find slavery of all races, creeds and colours to be abhorrent to step back from claiming for the DEN within the Solo system. Even if you do not claim for anyone else, drop your support for a nation that is enslaving the people of Hammer and Solo.

*** Dewiek Statement On Solo Situation ***

Greeting

Yesterday IMP ground forces made a surprise attack against the Nations Starbase in Solo Manticore.
Breaking an agreement not to bring the conflict to each others claimed space after the betrayal of the GTT.

The battle is raging with heavy casualties the earlier gains made by the surprise attacks have set the Imperials in good steed though further gains have slowed downed drastically for the Imperials though the price was high in blood.

The reason given for this attack by the Viceroy was we allowed allies to enslave the native population in Solo and do nothing about it.
They said we are allied to them. Them being the Empire.

1st The Nation is not allied to the Empire.
2nd The Empire introduced slaves whilst the system was governed by the Kastorians.
3rd The system message referring to slavery was the result of improvments made by the Empire to the planet using slaves brought in
from other parts of there Empire. Not Solo
4th There was rumours of bounty hunters being paid to capture natives and bring them back so they could be sold into slavery.
This was stopped before it really started and Nations troops deployed(GP) to ensure it stayed that way.
5th The Nation is not concerned with slavery either way, if you can not protect yourself that is your concern not the Nations.
The Nation view confinement as a far worse fate.
6th The Nation as stated it will not allow the enslavement of peoples in its systems. This still stands.
7th The Human Empire might want to clear out its own before it starts imposing it will on others.
A number of allied and friendly affiliations allow indentured works which is to all intense and purpose slavery.

On a further subject.

Targeting shipping in the Nation space will see you added to the nations posted list unless they are enemies of the Nation.

System claims will remain in force as per the Nations law.
When we took the claim affiliations stated that there claim would stay till the KAS was removed and this would be carried over to when the Nation claimed.
If we loose the claim then so be it.

High Lord Folkvar

*** Massed Battle Reports ***

Kang wishes to personally thank Ellarian of the DEN for providing a highly detailed information packet of battles across Solo, from which this report is compiled.

The DEN did wish it to be pointed out that the IMP had stressed to the DEN when the Corewards conflict was starting that any engagements between the IMP/GTT and the DEN would be restricted to Corewards only. And that this ‘agreement’ has been broken and trampled into the bloody Solo ground by the IMP.

Untrustworthy human meatsacks. Kang has long said never to trust the two-legs.

Ground assault.

At first light on Wednesday morning a massive ground force was unleashed with complete strategic and tactical surprise against the DEN Starbase Manticore.

It quickly became apparent that the dreaded EMP Uber-GP was in action once again, with DEN news agencies reporting that they charged into battle shouting out their battle cry of ‘We cant keep our word, anyway our fingers were crossed! Plus we are really the innocents in all this! ATTACK AND KILL THEM ALL!’

Kang must admit, Kang is impressed at the size of the Uber-GP. Human Empire recruiters have certainly been busy drafting lots and lots of Naplians into front-line service.

Day 3 the imps showed signs of confidence by starting to take outposts though Dewiek fleet elements present crushed each one taken, inflicting heavy casualties on IMP ground forces in the process, but also amongst the workers of these otherwise innocent mining facilities:

By mid-day on the second day, Ground Force Uber had reportedly captured the critical 20% of the Starbase necessary to set up supply lines and dig in for a proper fight. It is clear at this point that the Dewiek defenders are in serious trouble.

Fleet Action.

In the meantime the EMP fleet has deployed in full force around the system, with elements present in numbers around Alpha 5 with the CAL skulking in system.

In Alpha 5 IMP/GTT

Large amounts of 50s were also sighted in jump rings and moving around the quads. Some of these bumped into HEX warships triggering a brief but bloody battle:

The following day the entire EMP fleet was seen in action, numbering at 1039 front-line warships flying IMP/GTT/CAL flags, with the BHD/FET/CIA yet to be spotted in numbers. Which suggests the EMP could put into battle a fleet of such a size that it truly staggers they mind if they were all brought together at once, truly stomping home the vast military superiority of the EMP.

This uber-fleet caught some traders and a few Dewiek military ships which were so heavily outnumbered that they were destroyed in short order:

However, elsewhere some lucky FLZ warships, considering themselves fortunate not to have bumped into the Uber-Fleet, did however rack up some IMP freighter kills. It is not known if the freighters were ferrying troops and tanks into the ground battle, or if they were empty and heading back out for more.

Phew. Kang is exhausted after all of that bloodshed.

Exhausted, BUT VERY SATISFIED!

Fetch Kang his favourite slaves, it is time to relax.

What do you mean not yet, there is still more news? BAH!

*** Conflict Spreads ***

As might be expected, the Solo conflict has already begun to spread to the neighbouring system of Yank, where 3 IMP freighters have reportedly been destroyed, along with 7 HEX freighters.

With the Kastorians incapable of holding the Solo system to neutrality, is it only a matter of time until war engulfs the Yank system too?

Kang thinks those Kastorians had better warm up their System Weapon, this could get lively.

*** Subversion ***

A puny DTR facility has been subverted by MRC forces this week, in a rare example of non-solo-related-news. Reportedly a number of Detinus officers escaped, and were later able to retake the facility from the Mercenary forces who had put in their new ownership claim.

It is a lawless universe out there. Though Kang does think affiliations should at least hide the front door keys.

*** Political Dead ***

Pack leader Brenna of the Dewiek clan Brenna has been reportedly killed during ground assault operations in Solo.

Her death has been celebrated by the DEN as she fell in front-line fighting.

Her death is also celebrated by Kang, but for different reasons.

*** High Lord ***

The Dewiek High Lord Folkvar is understood to be personally involved in the Solo battle, leading ground troops against a highly trained Imperial assault division.

*** CIA Intervention Turns Deadly ***

Dewiek forces loyal to their recently deceased leader Brenna have unleashed their fury and caught a small GTT/CIA patrol in the outer reaches of Solo, and destroyed it utterly for no loss of their own.

Given the composition of the EMP fleet however, it seems reasonable to suggest this was a blocker fleet, put in place to hinder and interrupt DEN warfleet operations.

*** GTT Platform Struck ***

*** RIP Join The Fun ***

The RIP have stated their intent to target FRE positions in Solo:

RIP positions under my control will be targeting FRE positions in Solo while it is a war zone. I consider all salvage resulting from my operations to be my property.

Those FRE captains wishing to operate free of molestation may contact me privately for a price.

This sounds like the sort of thing the FET would do. Kang is suspicious. Are the RIP about to merge with the FET? Or is it just a happy moral coincidence?

*** Slavery ***

Admiral Bridge of the DTR has started this week that ‘We can all agree that slavery is horrid’.

Foolish Admiral Meatbridge. Have you ever owned slaves? Have you ever been a slave? Kang suspects not, so Kang demands to know how you could possibly know!

Kang owns slaves. And Kang can confirm that actually slavery is really rather lovely.

*** Solo Gate Rest Stop ***

The DOM facility ‘Rest Stop’ has been closed pending conclusion of the Solo conflict.

*** Estonestal ***

The lone pirate broadsword reported on last week stuck around for a second day and was destroyed with the loss of all stupid stupid hands onboard.

*** Flags Of Convenience ***

A number of vessels flying MRC/FRE/PRV flags have become involved in the Solo conflict, resulting in the Imperial services announcing their intent to freely target all such FoCs in the Solo system.

Uninvolved FoC positions may be advised to immediately drive up to the closest EMP battlefleet and ask for clarification. This has been a Kang safety notice.

*** Desecration ***

Reports are circulating that the attacking EMP Uber ground forces have breached a Dewiek cemetery and desecrated the tomb of Gath-Edoras, allegedly tying the corpse of the noted Dewiek to the front of an assault tank before storming a series of defensive bunkers.

Other reports suggest that Gath Edoras somehow rose from the dead to resist the attacking Empire forces.

Kang suspects the dead body tank thing is more likely. But it would not be the first time Kang has heard reports of the walking dead becoming involved in ground battles.

Do the DEN bury their dead with valuables?

KANG IS JUST CURIOUS!

Where is Kang’s shovel?

*** DTR Press Release ***

We are following the situation in Solo. We are not involved at this time. We have non-military reasons to be in Solo. If DTR shipping is fired on, the transgressor will be shown the error of their ways. There are no 'accidental' firings. If FOC ships are used to draw us in, it usually is not difficult to determine the controlling faction. If any of our bases are attacked, we will respond without warning to defend our people. You do not want us to come in to restore order.

*** CIA Take Potshots At DTR ***

A war of words has erupted between the CIA and the DTR, which rapidly escalated to some truly impressive insults, leading to speculation that the CIA have been deliberately attempting to bait the Detinus Republic into becoming militarily involved in the Solo conflict.

Speculation that mounted when Caliph Darius, one time Detinus Senator, also entered into a verbal fray.

There are reports that the Detinus Republic Stellar Armada has been put on alert status, and all leave has been cancelled. But DTR sources have stated this is simply as a precautionary measure in case their Starbase in the Solo system is threatened.

Come puny human meatsacks, commence slaughtering each other for Kang’s amusement.

*** Flagritz Press Release ***

This week saw the IMP and GTT put holding up the Caliphate above honour and launched attacks within the Solo system. Spinning tales of slaves they attack the Dewiek base where they claim no slaves are held.

It is hoped that by taking a base where they report no slaves are held they can save as many as zero salves from a this fate. Reports from the Dewiek base are no slaves have rose up to support the attack

Across the system reports flow in of zero slave uprising to throw off alien holdings

Reports flow in that traders who seek to make a living in systems of the Human Empire are destroyed while the IMPs and GTT do nothing to help them

*** Indentured Servitude ***

Reports from the Caliphate suggest that the old Confederate practice of Indentured Servitude is about to be abolished.

There is no news on how this might be going down with the old Confederate Noble Houses. Or indeed if the Noble Houses even still exist.

*** EMP Press Release ***

From the office of the Viceroy..............

DEN Bombard Civilians

News is coming in of several sectors of tyburn coming under intense bombardment in Solo by DEN warships.

Civilian casualties are assured, but ground units will endeavour to assist where ever possible

Solo ground offense update

IMP ground forces are making steady headway into the DEN base, with the defenders resorting to using corpses as fighting cover.

It is noted that (1 Gath-Edhoras - Deceased) who died in the first round of battle on day 1, has been fighting for the last 3 days.
(blog edit)
It is also noted that Brenna a leader fighting for the DEN has been killed in action

It is reported that enemy forces have delivered a considerable amount of trained troops to the battle of which around 70% have been killed.

Losses are heavy on both sides

FLZ attack shipping in yank under the guise of peace

The FLZ made an un-expected offer which within 24 hours turned out to be another cloak and dagger statement, as FLZ warships opened fire in the neutral zone of Yank against unarmed IMP traders.

It is assumed and expected that the FLZ warships are meeting their maker.

*** FLZ Offer To Cease Hostilities ***

As we go to press, the Flagritz have reportedly offered to surrender their Solo positions to a neutral third party in the form of the tea-loving wretches of the DTR, in order to conduct a full investigation into the slavery allegations, and to free any slaves who might be getting held at Flagritz positions. Rather than, you know, being blown up during military assaults.

There is no news on whether this offer will be accepted.
