One of the few TCA plasmas captured from their debris fields. Who would have thought these ships were designed over 500 years ago and some are still around now. Fully equipped with what the Nation has. These are ships others fear. With the discovery of lost technology and years of research to bring it on line makes these even more fearsome. The High Lord as ordered that all ship receive it but it will take years to service the fleet. Lucky this was one of the first. The Alpha is disturbed from his thoughts by the arrival of reporter. After pleasantries a tour is given of the ships system both defensive and offensive. The reporter is taken notes as he discovered the ship is covered in MkIV armour but the thickness does not seem right, he looks confused and is told to be patient. The scintillator fields are thicker, the field generated by the state of the art shields is thicker and stronger than current technology should normally allow. The reporter thinks these ships would easily absorb near enough all damage from a High Mk photon cannon, standard weapon on most fleets. These ships may not have the biggest punch but I bet they can absorb huge amounts of damage. Time to sup an ale or two with the crew and prevent himself from getting ripped to shreds. Assuming it all goes to plan, while waiting for the recipients to assemble, the Krell crew will be trained with a few stock phrases in Kastorian to repeat by rote, such as: 'A gift from the Ulian nation',' Those humans wouldn't bother doing this', and, 'Better us than those Brotherhood psychos and their 'True one' eh?'. Result: Special Action/Kastor/Distribution of Food Package and Medical Supplies/214. 15 The ships descend on the urban sectors and make announcements that following an ordered assembly food and medical supplies will be handed out. The crowds start forming quickly, some are armed though initially it looks like this is probably for defence. The numbers increase and start pushing forward while the captain addresses the people about the Ulians aid. Some civil security arrives and attempts control though they are too few for the numbers. The squadron of ships are nearly overrun by mobs of civilians as they attempt to distribute food and medical supplies. The soldiers do a reasonable job of holding the crowd back but fighting breaks out within the crowds. In the end they effectively dump and run at the advice from the civil security team. No doubt there are casualties and it is likely that there will be uneven and unfair distribution of the goods but it is an honest gesture nonetheless. The propaganda delivered, the Ulians back off. Remains to be seen how much. ****** War ******* The Falconian Republic has declared war against the Detinus Republic by capturing a number of their outposts, and then seizing the system of Farseed that was considered by the DTR to be their territory. Unapologetic Falconians reinforce system with warship. Beleaguered DTR unable to respond, too busy fighting rest of the universe? Is this the weak being picked apart and destroyed? DTR remains near to collapse? Both Wimbles and Dewiek jumping in to snap at remains? (*(* Falconian Newsreel (*(* Transpiral News The Farseed system has been officially recognised as part of the Falconian Republic. Peacekeeping forces have been deployed to bring order to this system. The system lies near the Wimble system of Wimbledon and links between an area of transpiral dominated by EMP forces and an area claimed by the Detinus Republic. Fighting over recent months in the system by the warring human factions resulted in the death of tens of thousands of sentients in ground assaults to capture the vulnerable DTR claiming base. It is hoped that the new FCN claim will bring peace and prosperity to this system. As a development zone the systems largely unexplored minerals and natural resources are open to responsible exploitation by affiliations with access. The first Falconian colonists have started to arrive on the planet Helpless Folly. This uninhabited worlds low gravity and varied terrain makes it ideal for an avian population. DTR authorities have refused to recognise the new system claim, in view of this and their recent destruction of a FCN freighter in the area they have been placed on the system enemy list. Diplomatic News The Falconian republic have moved diplomatic relations with the Felini Tyranny to an alliance. The FCN were previously FEL allies for many years as part of the Consortium before falling out with them over the fate of the strategically important Valhalla system (then known as Twinkle). Outer Capellan News It is thought that pirates have struck in quad G10 of the Acropolis system as one of a pair of FET freighters was boarded. FCN antipiracy patrols engaged the captured vessel and forced it to drop its cargo but it escaped. )() Mercenary )() A small mercenary ship has been destroyed by Confederate forces. Its what friends do. And, they were ready, with welcoming arms, offering gifts of four GCE freighters to blow up in gratitude for what I gave to them in the past. So that done I left happy, with warm feelings inside. But now this week, I came back to Shiva again, and all I find are insults. The place is full of boring HEX torpedo ships that just miss and miss and MISS, but, still they seem to think they are fighting. So GCE and HEX, please, if you leave tribute then, yes, leave me tribute and I will eat my fill, but, if you are going to actually FIGHT, then, stop with your insult pretend warships, and bring something even just a little interesting. Pulse beams is better even, since, at least, they can actually HIT, and do a little damage. Whittle away a little armour depth at least! I am not sure if you are incompetent, or, just being boring on purpose. But, he created an entire genre that we as sci-fi fans have gleefully picked up and run with. It’s hard to imagine science fiction universes where there aren’t creepy Insectile alien beings.
